Community Projects

Help a child

The Vieux Fort Children’s Society.

This worthy organisation has raised funds for the construction of a much-needed children’s home in Vieux Fort, as prior to this no such home existed in the South of the island.

This home provides a safe environment, support and shelter for vulnerable children within the community. Land for the project was donated by the Government of St Lucia, but funds were raised for construction of the building.

The society also operates a charity shop, so if you are able to bring along those unwanted items without  tipping your luggage allowance over the limit –  all donations will be gratefully received. For more information you may contact: beverlynjohn@talk21.com

Support for the animals

As members of the St Lucia Animal Protection Society (SLAPS) – we often end up acting as the de facto southern branch of this organisation.

Visitors are sometimes dismayed by what appear to be an abundance of stray animals on the island (many actually have owners), but the Society is always grateful for any donations to assist with shelter and care of animals.

You will notice a collection tin at the bar where donations can be made, or many of our guests choose to take out membership of  SLAPS. We have membership forms at the Reef or they can be downloaded from the SLAPS website: http://www.stluciaanimals.org

Visiting vets or guests with access to veterinary supplies can also make donations of these items which are put to good use.  Especially useful are flea & tick treatments (e.g Frontline).
